Functions

Eka ClO2 Purate®

Water treatment
Eka ClO2 Purate® technology offers customers a cost-effective and reliable method to produce chlorine dioxide for small-scale applications, such as water treatment. Typical water treatment applications include drinking water, cooling towers, process water, waste water, phenol destruction, and odor control.

Eka ClO2 Purate, a patented and proprietary formulation of sodium chlorate, hydrogen peroxide and stabilizers is combined with sulfuric acid in Eka's SVP-Pure® generator to produce a chlorine dioxide solution, which is piped to the application.

Microbiological control with Eka Purate
Eka Chemicals' microbiological control program consists of Eka Purate® technology including equipment, monitoring and analysis program.

Efficient water treatment
Chlorine dioxide is a powerful biocide that removes and prevents the formation of biofilm and slime deposits and effectively eliminates all microbes. Eka Purate technology offers customers a cost effective and reliable method to produce chlorine dioxide for water treatment.

Typical applications also include drinking water, cooling towers, process water, waste water, phenol destruction, odor control, and more. Eka Purate has substantial cost and environmental advantages over other existing methods.

Bleaching non-wood fibers
Non-wood fibers contain less lignin than wood and are therefore easier to pulp and bleach. Being naturally brighter than wood, they require less intense whitening regardless of method and bleach better with milder bleaching sequences such as hydrogen peroxide, oxygen and ozone. Generally, non-wood fibers also take less water, chemicals, and energy.

Eka ClO2 Purate technology is ideal for small non-woody fiber mills, which typically have a daily requirement of 5 MT ClO2, or less.
Eka ClO2 Purate technology provides a low capital solution for pulp mills desiring to implement or expand chlorine dioxide bleaching.

Eka ClO2 Purate, a patented and proprietary formulation of sodium chlorate, hydrogen peroxide and stabilizers is combined with sulfuric acid in Eka's SVP-Pure® generator to produce a chlorine dioxide solution of about 3 gpl. When combined with Eka's proprietary L-R process, the solution is recirculated through the generator and ClO2 concentrations of up to 8 gpl are available.

Eka ClO2 Purate technology is ideal for small non-woody fiber mills, which typically have a daily requirement of 5 MT ClO2, or less.

Eka Purate technology is supported globally via strategic manufacturing and distribution sites. See www.purate.com.
